How to use HJSplit by

Hello, and welcome to this Softonic screencast!

Today we're going to take a look at HJSplit, one of the most popular utilities on Softonic. It's a small and highly efficient tool that allows you to split up large files into more manageable pieces.

As you can see, it's not the most complicated of programs. To split a file, simply click on split, input the file that needs to be broken down and hit start. You can specify what size you want the split files to be - but be careful! The default size - 1400 KB - is pretty small, so if you are splitting something large, you'll end up with loads of little files! Before you start, have a think about the size of the file and the most logical way to split it up.

HJSplit allows you to join files in exactly the same way. Bear in mind that if there are multiple files that have been created by HJSplit, you only have to choose the first one - .001 - as HJSplit will find the rest automatically as long as you keep the program's naming conventions. The joined file will have the suffix .JOINED. You might have to remove this for the file to work.

Even though it's got loads of fans, this program is never going to win any prizes in the software beauty stakes. It doesn't really matter, though, since this simple little tool is one of the best in its class.

That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed this Softonic production and that we'll see you again soon!
